Renovation in the Hamlet

The apartment sat in an old house in the hamlet and had a floor plan from another era. A long corridor, small rooms, a kitchen in the furthest corner. We read the structure before tearing anything out. Two walls came down, one was added. The result is a living space that takes light from two sides, and a kitchen that belongs to the dining table instead of hiding in a corner. Bathroom and kitchen are new, the pipework stayed where it was. That kept the budget calm. The built-in furniture is joinery work in spruce, fitted to the crooked walls. What was good has stayed: the old floors, the door leaves, the proportions of the rooms.
